Layla Hanlon, Paralegal
Layla was born and raised in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. You might remember Sarajevo as the host of the 14th Winter Olympic Games or, historically, as the site of the assassination in 1914 of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria that sparked World War I. Layla earned a Law Degree from The University of Sarajevo's School of Law in 1994.
Layla's family started calling Bellevue, Washington, their new home in 1995. While learning English, Layla served in the National Service Corporation, also known as Americorps. Through Americorps she worked in government-funded programs that provide social and legal services to refugees, immigrants, and low-income individuals. After two years of service, Layla was hired by the same agency as a Case Manager.
In 2002 Layla left that position, became a mother, and stayed home with her newborn son for a short time. She then returned to school. In 2004 she received an Associates degree in Paralegal Studies from Crown College in Tacoma, Washington. After graduation she held a couple of research and legal case management positions before becoming Lyle's paralegal in June of 2007.
Christine Albertson, Legal Secretary
Christy is a California native who moved to Washington in 1993. She has a diverse background, but, after becoming a mother, decided to pursue her interest in the law. She obtained training as a legal secretary at Lake Washington Technical College and later worked in the legal department of Microsoft. Christy has been employed as Lyle's secretary and office manager since August of 2007. She is married and has one daughter.
